Welcome to the board!
If you're reading this, then you are hopefully a member and will soon be submitting your character sheets for approval.
Please use this thread to introduce yourself to the other members. This thread will also be used to explain the rules for the Forum, since every good game has to have rules to run smoothly and ensure an even playing field. I will be writing the rules here, they are subject to change as needs arise.
Rule 1)Know where to post.
IC is IC and OOC is OOC, there are different threads on different boards for a reason. OOC comments should remain off the IC board at all times. Removing those posts proves to be a lot easier then trying to figure out where they belong so I can move them myself.
Rule 2)Know who you are posting to or about.
In games like these, it is normal for characters to not get along. Rivalries may arise, competitions may get out of hands, there may even be a betrayal at some point in the game, where a once trusted ally might become a bitter enemy. All of this is good fun in game terms, but it should not, and will not, bleed over from the IC world into the OOC world. No personal attacks, for any reason, will be tolerated. Any player I find to be committing such personal attacks on a person in an OOC capacity, will be removed without notice. You have all been warned.
Rule 3Post intent, not result.
This rule regards the way you post your IC actions. It may seem trivial, but as a character rolls their action, the players are not guaranteed success.
**EXAMPLE OF INCORRECT POSTING METHOD**
Awesome man, swings his powerful fist, punching the petty thief square in the nose.
**EXAMPLE OF CORRECT POSTING METHOD**
Awesome man, swings his powerful fist, aiming for the petty thief's nose.
Please note the difference, posts that are god modded to state result versus intent will be either removed, or edited at the GM's discretion.
Rule 4 Be clear.
As a rule, this may seem odd, but it makes things much easier to sort out when the GM knows what is being rolled and why. Returning to the previous example.
**EXAMPLE OF UNCLEAR POST**
Awesome man sees the petty thief making a break for it, and it's on! DCT1_yBh+4
**EXAMPLE OF CLEAR POST**
Awesome man sees the petty thief making a break for it, and the chase is on! [+4 Athletics to overtake the thief.]
Again, please not the difference. If the GM cannot determine what the roll is being made for, then the post will remain unanswered until edited.
Rule 5Be mature.
No whining if rolls or the story doesn't go your way, the life of a hero is hard, get used to it.
Rule 6Have fun.
If I find that you are here to intentionally ruin other peoples experiences with the game, you shall be removed without notice.
Rule 7Consent.
Before players can have characters approved, they must respond to this thread and acknowledge that they are of legal age to participate in this forum, as this game could depict graphic situations, violence, drug use, ect. The host of the forum is in no way responsible for minors participating.
